Therapy for Artists
Los Angeles & Encino, CA or Virtual
Anxiety can look like many things, including perfectionism, a brutal inner critic, or an irrational worry. Anxiety is the most common mental health diagnosis in our country, but some of my clients catastrophize in wildly imaginative but painful ways. It is possible to gain control over one's anxious thoughts, even those that play all day long like a radio with the volume turned down low. My treatment approach is results-driven and evidence-based to help clients calm themselves.
Creative individuals - artists, actors, musicians, directors, makeup artists, and writers - come to therapy for anxiety relief or they struggle with depression symptoms or sensitivity to criticism. They want help getting unstuck from painful thought patterns. Sometimes they’re talented and high achieving but relentlessly self-critical.
My therapy work with creative people alleviates anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. I help artists become unblocked creatively and bounce back after rejection. And I help them strengthen and enrich their relationships, starting with the relationship they have with themselves. Together, we explore ideas like persistence, rebounding, pivoting, and reinventing oneself.
