As a Certified First Responder Counselor, I’m honored to work with members of the First Responders community, including police, fire fighters, and EMTs. For people with dangerous, high-stress jobs like First Responders, exposure to traumatic experiences is a daily reality. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (or PTSD) symptoms include flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, nightmares, sleeplessness and mood disorders like depression. Using evidence-based methods, I can help my clients improve their mood and find relief from PTSD symptoms.
I’ve been trained by Parnell Institute to offer Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (or AF-EMDR therapy). My training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy was with Polaris Institute in San Francisco. My understanding of the autonomic nervous system and Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory enables me to help lower the impact of psychological triggers for my clients and heal unprocessed stress physiology in the system. I offer trauma therapy sessions in person or online.
